Professional Memberships
American Association of Critical - Care Nurses
I have been a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) at the national level for many years since beginning my career in critical-care in 2007. Living in San Diego, I became aware of the various, Chapter specific memberships. After moving to Denver in October 2012 and learning of the local chapter that is available, I had the desire to become more involved in my community and with the AACN and became a Denver Chapter member. I was unable to attend the National Teaching Institute (NTI) this year in Denver, but am looking forward to attending next years conference in San Diego. I try to attend the chapter meeting each month to keep up-to-date on any new happenings in the area and throughout the nation related to critical-care.
American College of Cardiovascular Nurses
I became cardiovascular certified in the Spring 2014 and became a member of the American College of Cardiovascular Nurses. Becoming a member has opened my eyes to new visions and challenges in my career goals and opportunities in the specialty of cardiovascular nursing. The opportunities with being a member are endless, including free continuing education credits, training courses offered to members only and up-to-date new information in cardiovascular nursing and medicine.
